
Pilates is a system of exercise based on 34 recommended movements that teach awareness of breathing, spinal alignment, and the aim to strengthen the deep muscles of the torso. Pliates also emphasizes control and form to strengthen , stretch, and train key stabilizing muscles of the torso and spine. The "Pilates Principles " is to condition the entire body through proper alignment, centering, concentration, control, precision, breathing, and flowing movement. Another central aim of Pilates is to attempt to create a fusion of mind and body, so that without even engaging the mind, the body will move with economy, grace, and balance. The discipline is friendly on the joints and appropriate for all fitness level.
